This course is aimed at students who have completed three or four semesters of Spanish language at university level. Students at this level should have covered all the basic structures of the Spanish language. The Intermediate course is designed to develop and master expressive skills.
This course is aimed at students who have completed five or six semesters of Spanish language at university level. This course offers an extensive revision of the grammatical topics that cause most of the difficulties at this level, such as the contrast between the uses of different narrative past tenses, the use of “ser” and “estar” in descriptions, the difference between “por” and “para”, and the uses of the subjunctive in opinions and recommendations.
It is worth pointing out that the development of grammatical knowledge in Spanish is a mean to achieve the final objective of communicating efficiently in Spanish. Therefore, grammar issues will be addressed in conversational practice, listening comprehension, and reading and writing exercises.
The course offers a weekly tutoring service that deals with participants’ difficulties and concerns during the program development. Access to this service will be provided by the program coordinator
The program offers 2 elective courses on different aspects of Peruvian Culture such as social reality, history, geography, arts, and language.
