Located on the central west coast of South America, Peru offers a huge variety of landscapes and climates due to its unique geographical location. Historically, the current Peruvian territory has also been the home to some of the richest pre-Columbian civilizations, complex societies that achieved extremely high levels of development in terms of architecture, textiles, ceramics, gold and silver work, among others.
